Cell Identity, Gene Regulation, Lineage Dynamics

Email: mvollb [at] stanford.edu

Plant development is remarkably flexible, including in the stomatal lineage wherein certain stem cells can undergo variable rounds of self-renewing divisions before differentiation. I am interested in the signals and regulatory logic that encode this flexibility, specifically through controlling the decision for cells to differentiate or self-renew.
